Reward Yourself for Your Fitness Activities

The Center would like to thank the E. P. Sanderson Fund for purchasing pedometers to encourage active living. The pedometers will be given to people aged 55 years and above. To be given a pedometer interested people are asked to log at least 24 days with 45 minute of fitness activities over 12 weeks (the 45 minutes does not need to be done all at the same time, and yes, activities such as vacuuming count!). To document your activity you can pick up a fitness log at the Senior Center, or download the fitness log. Two types of pedometers are available; one is compact and counts steps, the second is a bit larger and measures steps, distance, calories, speed and time.

Thank you!
Leslie Vogt, Manager

The Pittsfield Area Senior Center promotes independence and well-being for seniors through a healthy and active lifestyle, increased social interaction, and a sound nutrition program.

PASC offers public rural senior bus transportation, we are a Meals on Wheels Site and provide daily noon-time dining. Weekly activities include yoga, strength and balance exercise class, bingo and Internet/computer instruction. We go on monthly mystery dinners. The senior center is open Monday thru Friday, 8:00am to 2:00pm. Our center has an active corp of volunteers and we always welcome new participants and volunteers. At PASC you can be as active as you want to be.

Pittsfield Area Senior Center is one of 9 senior programs under the umbrella of Community Action-Belknap-Merrimack Counties, Inc. PASC was established in October 1972, and serves all seniors living in Suncook Valley.

We need the help of everyone who believes that this idea can happen at the Pittsfield Area Senior Center.  Please consider helping by being a volunteer.
