Beginning in the 2009-2010 school year, breakfast and lunch prices will increase to the following prices:

Pittsfield Elementary School
        Breakfast - $1.45
        Lunch - $2.40

Pittsfield Middle High School
        Breakfast - $1.75
        Lunch - $2.70

Milk and snack will remain the same.

School nurses have just received notification from the state immunization program that there will be two major changes in the immunization requirements for the next school year, starting in the fall of 2009.  (more…)

 We are currently in the process of transitioning to a new student information system for the 2009-2010 school year.  We have been working with studnts here at school to enter their requests online, and will send copies of student requests home to parents for review as soon as they are available.  Your patience as we continue this process is greatly appreciated!  Please feel free to contact Mrs. Bergevin in the Guidance Office with questions at 435-6701, or by email at Contact.

For the second year, up to $40,000 in Foss Family Pittsfield Town Scholarships will be awarded in June to graduates of Pittsfield Middle High School continuing their education beyond high school.  Students pursuing degrees at two-year, four-year, technical or trade schools are eligible for the awards.  The scholarship program was established through the generosity of Richard and Lois Foss with the goal of supporting post-secondary education for the community’s young people and encouraging their contribution to revitalization of the community.  Past graduates as well as graduating seniors are eligible for the award.  Applications are available through the Guidance Office at (435-6701) and are due by May 1^st.

The school district meeting will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. at the Pittsfield Elementary School.

The annual town meeting will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2009, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Pittsfield Elementary School.

 COMMUNITY FORUM

The Pittsfield School District will be holding a community forum on June 6^th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  We will be discussing our draft district vision and mission statement, use of stimulus funds, and the location of the S.A.U. office.  Please come and join in these important discussions; let your voice be heard.

The Pittsfield School Board has been working with school administrators and school staff since August to develop the school district’s budget proposal for the 2009-2010 school year.  This process will culminate when the voters of the school district vote to finalize the budget during the upcoming school district meeting, which will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, at Pittsfield Elementary School.

 Voters can learn about the School Board’s budget proposal by reviewing the summary provided here.  In addition, the Board is providing information about the district’s five-year capital improvement plan.  Pittsfield citizens should feel free to contact the superintendent of schools with any questions about the proposed budget or capital improvement plan.
