Pittsfield Youth Athletic Park

The Pittsfield Youth Baseball Association was organized in 1981 and incorporated on August 12, 1982, by a group of individuals who thought it important for Pittsfield children to play baseball by the same set of rules and guidelines and under safe conditions.

Initially, games were held on a single diamond on land provided by William Freese on Tilton Hill Road. By the turn of the century there were three excellent fields complete with dugouts, backstops, homerun fences and a large snack bar and clubhouse. A fourth large field is presently under construction.

On May 4, 2002 a dedication ceremony was held and the complex, a gift of the William Freese Family, was officially named Pittsfield Youth Athletic Park. The first diamond was dedicated as “John Dunn Field” in honor of Lt. John Dunn, Jr. who played on it for many years. Lt. Dunn lost his life while serving in the United States Navy.

During the spring of 2002, the complex hosted the Cal Ripken District 6 Championships.
