The FB Argue Recreation Area
is open and all is running smoothly. The hours for the area
are Monday, Wednesday, Friday Saturday, and Sunday from
12:00 to 5:00 and Tuesday and Thursday 12:00 to 7:00. The
cost is 75 cents per day for children and $1.00 for adults
and non-residents. Children under 5 are admitted free with a
paid adult. A Season Family Pass can be purchased at the
area for $40.00. Concessions can be purchased at the gate
house.

The FB Argue Recreation Area
will close for the season on Tuesday, September 2, 2008. In
the next two weeks there will be activities besides swimming
each afternoon beginning at 2:00 pm. The activities will
include Bingo, Bocce Ball, Duck Hunt, Sand Castle Contests,
and Parachute Games. We will decide each day which
activities to have depending on the weather. Come on down
for some more summer fun before the end of the summer.

About the Dr.
Forest B Argue Memorial Pool....
This three acre park
located within walking distance of many homes in
Pittsfield serves as
the Town Pool. If features two pavilions suitable for
group picnics, arts and crafts, picnics a recently
refurbished snack bar/bathroom building. The pool is
managed by the Pittsfield Park and Recreation Commission
and is open seven days a week during the summer months.
A fishing derby, ice skating and other similar events
are scheduled during the year.
The park was donated to
the town by the Pittsfield Rotary in 1961 in memory of
Dr. Forest B. Argue, MD. This pond was previously known
as Clarks Pond being used as a mill pond. The pond was
dredged, a new dam built, fencing erected about the
perimeter of the pond area and a new bath house was
erected.
