The Old Home Day committee will host the University of New Hampshire’s LITTLE RED WAGON professional children’s theatre troupe on Sat., July 23 at 10:00am at the Gazebo in Dustin Park for a performance of “Totally Red!”  The theatre troupe performs for children and family audiences at schools, libraries, festivals, fairs, banquets, hospitals, recreation centers, state parks, camps and churches.  The Little Red Wagon is the longest running nonprofit, children’s theatre tour in the U.S and performs at nearly 70 locations in New England each summer.  Founded in 1971, The Little Red Wagon became a grassroots model program for the State of NH and was instrumental to the introduction of Theatre Education into the public school system as a supportive tool for reading and learning.

The Little Red Wagon’s “Totally Red!” is a retelling of the popular fairytale Little Red Riding Hood.  However, during the play the story is retold many times using different theatrical conventions from various theatre genres ranging from: storytelling, 80's Hip Hop theatre, Elizabethan, Avante Garde and Musical Theatre.  Audiences of all ages will enjoy this enduring tale.

For information regarding this show, call Andi Riel at 435-6346.  For information about booking a touring show, contact the UNH Dept. Theatre & Dance office at 603-862-2150 or nancy.pearson@unh.edu.
