The Pittsfield School Board has been nominated For the 3rd Annual Larry O’Toole Award. The $100,000 Award Honors Education Leaders Committed To Student-Centered Approaches To Learning. The Pittsfield School Board is one of six nominees, New England-wide, to be chosen as a possible recipient of The Larry O’Toole Award. Each year the Nellie Mae Education Foundation (NMEF) acknowledges winners with a $100,000 grant in honor of exemplary commitments to student centered learning models. This year NMEF is including an online voting piece that will allow supporters of the nominees to take part in the selection process. As the only NH school district to be recognized, we are asking that you support the Pittsfield School Board in hopes of receiving this honor. Please go to to cast your vote for the Pittsfield, NH School Board. Thank you, your support is greatly appreciated! Voting will be live until September 30, 2014 at 12:00 pm EST.

The South Pittsfield Community Club, 444 Dowboro Road. will be holding a turkey dinner on Sat, October 18th from 5:00-6:30. The price is $9 adults/$5 for children.

The Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association is offering a free presentation “In a Heartbeat: Tips for a Healthy Heart” on Wednesday, September 24 from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. at Pittsfield Senior Center,. Learn the basics about heart disease and the risk factors associated with this group of chronic diseases. Discover how controlling your risk factors help you maintain your heart health. The Pittsfield Police Association is sponsoring a Comedy Night Fundraiser and tickets are available NOW. The show is on Sat, Nov 22 at 7:30pm at the Dell Lea Country Club, doors open at 6:30pm, show is 21+, cash bar and tickets are $15 each. Please call 435-7535 for more information.

The Pittsfield Boys Baseball and Basketball Programs will be holding their 8th Annual Mid-Summer Classic Golf Tournament. The tournament will be at the Loudon Country Club on Sunday, September 28th. Start time is 9AM. Businesses can either sponsor a hole for $100 or register a team of 4 for $360. Both sponsorships receive an advertisement at a tee box, logo displayed on Facebook page, and a than you in local newspapers. For more information please contact Jay Darrah at 608-6840.

The Pittsfield Youth Workshop Board of Directors will meet on Wed, Sept. 24 at 6:15pm at the Workshop, 5 Park Street.

The Josiah Carpenter Library "Read, Meet and Talk" book club will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 23 from 10:15-11:45 at the Community Center, lower level.

The Josiah Carpenter Library Preschool Story hour with Mrs. Grainger will be held on Thursday mornings fro 10-11am. There will be stories, crafts and a snack. Please call the library at 435-8406 for more information.

The Pittsfield Conservation Commission will meet on Thursday, Sept 25 at 7pm at the Town Hall.

The Pittsfield Elementary School will have its 10th annual art exhibit at the Deerfield Fair, which opens Sept 25 through the 28th. The display will be located in the School building on the fairgrounds.
