The Pittsfield Fire Department
provides fire, emergency medical, rescue, and code
enforcement services to the businesses and residents of
Pittsfield, as well as mutual aid to the surrounding
communities as a member of the Capital Area Mutual Aid Fire
Compact. We are staffed 24-hours a day/7 days a week by
three full-time EMTs and three full-time firefighter/EMTs,
who are supplemented by per-diem firefighter/EMTs. Combined,
our Department has 29 members, who serve in the capacity of
Fire Chief, administrative assistant, full-time staff,
per-diem staff, or as an on-call officer or firefighter.
Additionally, our Support Unit has five members. We respond
to approximately 800 calls annually with a fleet that
includes two engines, two ambulances, a tanker, a forestry,
a boat and a staff vehicle.
