The Pittsfield Welfare Department is located in the Pittsfield Town Office Building located at 85 Main Street.

Beginning January 1, 2016 the welfare office schedule will be:

  • Monday 11:00 am – 7:00 pm
  • Tuesday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:00 pm

Clients need to make an appointment in advance, in order to meet with the Welfare Director ~ unless it is a true emergency situation. Also, special appointment are available as needed.

Applications are available in the lobby during Town Hall business hours. They are in the Pink Folder.

 The Pittsfield Food Pantry

The Food Pantry is available to anyone who needs food for themselves or their family. Please call (603) 435-6773 x9 to arrange for pick-up of food items during the times listed below.

Want to Help?

The Pittsfield Food Pantry welcomes volunteers that would like to lend a hand in the food pantry or donations of any type or  size including cash donations to help people right here in our community. We are a 501(c)(3) non profit organization, so all funds are tax deductible. Food donations that can be valued are also tax deductible. Even a single item donation can help a  family in need.

List of commonly needed items:

  • Chicken (of any kind)
  • Hamburger
  • Fruits and Vegetables
  • Canned Broths (Chicken and Beef)
  • Toilet Paper
  • Tooth Brushes
  • Tooth Paste
  • Soap / Shampoo
  • Canned Foods
  • Dry Milk
  • Snack Items for Children
