Hours of Operation

Monday - Wednesday 2 pm - 7 pm

Thursday 10 am - 6 pm

Saturday 9:30 am to 12:30 pm

(Closed Saturdays in Summer)

With change in hours the library will be open five days instead of six, and 26 hours a week instead of 29.  According to the US Department of Energy the library will be able to reduce the amount of oil needed to heat the building if we are open for five days a week.  By making this change the library will be saving money, conserve energy, and create a small pollution reduction all at the same time.

Story Hour will be held at 10:00am each Thursday, except when school is closed, and will begin on October 2, 2008.  Each week there will be stories and crafts, time for parents and caregivers to meet and visit, and of course plenty of books to check out and enjoy at home.

Located on Main Street the Josiah Carpenter library strives to cultivate its mission of over 100 years to provide lifelong learning for all.

Browse and search hundreds of great titles and bestselling authors, download them to your computer, transfer them to a portable device, or burn select titles onto a CD for your enjoyment anywhere, anytime.

Note: Before you can download a book you will need to get a personal access number.  You can get your number, along with some download instructions by visiting the library, or give us a call at 435-8406 or send us an E-Mail.

TumbleBooks - is an online collection for children, of animated, talking picture books, including books to learn French, Spanish, and other languages, plus puzzles and games. You can access the collection from your home or from a library computer.  Directions for using TumbleBooks.
